How we got here
It started with a stack of rejection letters.
Our founder got tired of watching the same thing happen: a quietly brilliant manuscript would land on an agent’s or editor’s desk, the room would say “too quiet for the market,” and the writer would go home with a polite no.
One night over coffee on Pennsylvania Avenue, the question got asked out loud. What if the gatekeepers aren’t actually right? What if there’s a way to make these books beautifully, ship them properly, and let readers decide?
That’s the whole thesis. We don’t acquire books. We don’t take royalties. We don’t decide what’s marketable. We help writers make the best version of their book — and then we get out of the way.

What we believe
A few things we won’t bend on.
You keep your rights. Forever.
We don’t take royalties, we don’t license your work, and we don’t take a cut of your sales. The book is yours. Always.
One book per editor per quarter.
Our editors carry eight titles a year, not twenty-two. It means slower acceptance windows. It also means your manuscript actually gets read.
Print-quality, period.
Every interior is typeset by a human. Every cover is reviewed on real proofs. We don’t ship books that look like they were generated.
Honest pricing, written down.
Flat-fee packages, no surprise invoices, no commission stacking. If we recommend an add-on, we tell you why and what it costs.
We'll tell you no.
If your manuscript isn’t ready yet, we’ll say so. If a package is more than you need, we’ll route you down. Bad fits cost everyone money.
We're proud of every spine.
Our office shelf holds a copy of every book we’ve made. If we wouldn’t shelve it, we wouldn’t have published it.
